    When Oisín returned from Tír na nÓg St Patrick took him in to his own monastery and let him live along with the monks.

Bhí an Ghaedhealg ar fheabhas aige agus is i nGaedhilg a dh'inniseadh sé a chuid scéalta le linn a óige, ach i ndeireadh a shaoghail nuair a bhí an Ghaedhealg beagnach marbh i gCill Mhaille d'inniseadh sé scéalta i mBéarla. D'airigeas féin é ag innsint an scéal seo i mBéarla breis is 30 bliadhain ó soin. Cailleadh é tamall beag na dhiadh sin agus é timcheall 80 bliadhain d' aois.
    When Oisín returned from Tír na nóg St Patrick took him in to his own monastery and let him live along with the monks. Oisín was old and quite blind so St Patrick got a little boy to lead him round. But although Oisín was old he was still very strong compared to the men of Ireland in St. Patrick's time and he had a tremendous appetite. Now the Saint had a housekeeper who was very miserly and she used not give poor Oisin half enough to eat. When she used have dinner ready she used blow a whistle a few times, and if the monks and Oisín did not hear her and come at once she would give them nothing.
