    A cooked egg was placed in the centre of a dish of potatoes. Each child dipped a straw in the egg and then ate the potato.
    Boxtie Bread
    Grate a dozen large potatoes and squeeze them in a cloth. Bruise some peeled boiled potatoes on a bake-board, mix with the grated potatoes and a little flour and make into a cake. Bake in a greased oven with turf coals on the lid and under.
