    One evening in June when wild flowers were blooming,
    Gay flora was just in her prime,
    The white blossomed hedges the air was perfuming,
    And larks did melodiously chime,
    All creatures seemed cheerful but one joyless bee,
    That sung round a rose them drooped on a tree,
    it pensively sung, the repeat seemed to be,,
    'my fair rose will you ne'er bloom again?'
