  1. On the farm of Mr William Ward in the townland of Clougherne 2 miles from Smithboro there is a mound topped by big boulders which are laid fairly symmetrically in the form of a huge grave.
    These boulders have been placed there apparently by human agency.
    They are not rocks projecting above the surface of the ground. This place is called a Giant's Grave. If the length of the grave be any indication of the stature of the giant he must have been about 12 ft. in height.
