  1. In Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan in the river Fane just behind where our school now stands, there was a mermaid seen. The name of the person who saw this thing is Jimmy O'Rourke, the Glebe, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan. This mermaid was five feet in height. No attempts were made to catch her. It has only been seen once. This being was supposed to be guarding a treasure.
