- The most harmful weeds growing on our farm in Killabola, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, are: Bloodweed, Thistle, Dock, Ragweed, and Chickenweed. They are harmful because they weaken the soil and because they grow quickly. Bloodweed is used as a healing plant for wounds. Dockweed is used for taking out a nettle sting.Ragweed is used as a healing plant for a sore throat.Cabbage and potatoes, lettuce, parsnips and onions are used as food for people.
