  1. One day James Kirk, Drumass, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan was cutting turf, when an otter jumped out of the bog, and caught hold of his leg, and nearly pulled him in. Next day, it jumped out of the bog again, and only for his brother he would have had him in. A few nights afterwards four otters ran out infront of him on the road.
