  1. In the townland of Lannet, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan, there is a river called the "Fane" and in this river about twenty years ago there was a very large pike. Four or five men around the townland, decided to catch him. They got net-wire and net-wired the river around the fish. When they had it all netwired they went in to catch him. When he saw the netwire he made a dart and went through it at once.
