    About fifty years ago there lived at Drumcatton, Inniskeen, Co, Monaghan, a man named Matthew Rooney who was a great walker. One day he made up his mind to go to a fair in Newry, as there was no border at the time. He started at nine o'clock, and was in Newry at one o'clock, and got his boots soled and arrived home at five o'clock in the evening.
