  1. This story is about a bridal couple from Mullinahinsina, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan.Their names were, Owen Meegan, and Bridget Finegan. They talked about getting married. The bride's father bought a blanket, and he showed it to a neighour woman callled Catherine Meegan. He rolled it round his hands and he said that he would be out alot of money with this wedding, and that he was after, giving some money to the groom. Catherine Meegan met the groom going away the next morning with an ass and cart, and two bags of potatoes in it. She asked him if he was going to buy the ring, and he said, he was going to buy a ring for her nose. When he had the potatoes sold, he went off and he and the ass or cart never returned. The father of the bride said that he was not a pin, or a needle and that he would be found.
