There are four angels overspread,
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,
God bless the bed that I lie on.
If I die before I awake I pray to God my soul to take.Jesus Tender Shepherd hear me,
Bless this little child to-night,
Through the darkness be thou near me,
Keep me safe till morning's light,
All the sinners that are forgiven,
All the friends I have loved so well
Take us all at last to Heaven,
Happy there for thee to dwell.
