The travelling people who frequent this part of the country mostly are the Cashes.

The travelling people who frequent this part of the country mostly are the Cashes. They come in the Spring and in the Summer. They travel in caravans and stay at a place in Crutt called White's Cross. They originally came from Wexford.
Like all other travelling people of to-day they are not received kindly by the people as they prey too much on their generosity. They carry around small wares such as pictures pot-cleaners gallons and measures. Most people buy from them to get rid of them.
