  1. Once upon a time there lived in Ireland in the old times a man who had a son and he never walked or talked. He was always a baby in the cradle. He was eighteen years old. One day his father was going to buy shovels. He said to him "don't buy the first one, don't buy the second, but buy the third one." The father was surprised to hear the son talking. So off he went to the blacksmith. He said to the blacksmith. "I won't take the first one, I won't take the second one but I will take the third one." The smith said to him, "go home and say "the fourth is on fire". So home the man went. He said "the fourth one is one fire." The baby in the cradle said "my tools are gone." What was in the cradle but a fairy and his real child was taken and the fairy put in his place.
