  1. I
    Of all the scenes I gazed upon
    In life's bright happy fast;
    There is one dear and sweet old place,
    That's on my memmory cast;
    That spot is by a flowing tide,
    Where youth has happy been
    And ever showed its brightest side
    Down by the slivery Deen.
    Chorous.
    That sweetest dearest place of mine,
    That changeless charming scene,
    Is by the banks where fairies play
    Down by the silvery Deen.
    II
    At close of day when toil is o'er,
    And life knows naught of care,
    The golden sun glides slowly by
    As if 'twould linger there
    The rustic bridge the hazel dell
    The floral mounds and sheen
    The ivied castle tales could tell
    Of rafture by the Deen.
