  1. I live in the District of Dunmore. It is in the Parish of Saint John's and in the Barony of Gowran. This district is divided in two, Dunmore East and Dunmore West.
    Many Irish words still remain with the old people such as:- a mhic, dromán, boisín, grisosach, garsúin, biadh, mí adh, deoc an dorais, praiscín, leinb mo croide, and many other words.
    It is a fairly big district with 66 families living in it. Two hundred and fourteen are allowed to vote.
    The old people can tell stories, riddles, rhyms, and songs. With Irish words here and there.
    Most of our houses are slated or tiled. The thatched houses are almost faided away.
    Many people over seventy live in this district. Here are the names
