  1. He was a landlord of the Paulstown estate who lived in Viewmount house which is now occupied by Dobbs. Viewmount is a half of a mile south of Paulstown. At that time there was a farm of two hundred acres or more going with the house which is now divided among smaller holders. Mr. Dobbs still holds in or around twenty acres. Long ago Flood carried on a big farming business. He had his own boats on the Barrow. He used cart boat-loads of manure from Dublin to the Royal Oak on the Canal and a lot of the tenants used bring it from there to Viewmount.
He also had an interest in the flag quarries of Kellymount and they used ship those flags on the boats to Dublin.
