  1. 4-1-38 A Funny Story
    Once upon a time there was a quare halk who was fond of his pint. Every night he came home by a rath. So begor this night he was coming home & in the middle of a field he saw a big castle with lots of faries dancing. So my lad buttned up his coat & lucked as well as he could. But he had a hump he went in & saw a old grey headed man inside he watched them for a while. So he saw this lovely girl & the bloak had his eye on her he asked her out for a dance so she went out with him. So begor he sang and danced & went to hell inside. So it was time to go home he bid good by to them all & off he went.
    When he was gone out the girl went over to her father & said Dad what a pity he hos a hump he is a fine lad. "Call him back said the old lad. So out she went & called him back & the hump fell off on the ground. He thanked them & off he went. Now there was a dry gubán at the other side of the street who had a hump, when he had seen his friend Tom as strate as a rule he said he would try a go at it. So he went off & came home
