  1. 6-12-37 Hidden Treasure
    On a road between Gowran and Dunbell there is an old old Rath of which the following story is told.
    A farmer and his wife once lived in a house near a rath only a field of potatoes divided them. One day the farmer went to Kilkenny & before going he told the workman to take weeds out of the drills. The man was hard at work when he noticed a woman coming from the Rath towards the house which she entered.
    He learned afterwards that she asked the farmers wife for a tin of Indian meal and having got it she returned to the Rath. Soon afterwards she returned the meal and asked the farmer and his wife to accompany her to the Rath where she showed them a little rise of ground under a skeough bush & having told them to dig she then disappeared.
    The farmer went for tools and after digging for sometime he found a crock of gold which he carried
