    Churning - If a person comes in while 'churning' is going on, he must give a hand in making the butter, otherwise he will take away the 'good luck' and the butter supply for the rest of the year, will be very poor.
    Birth of Baby- When people admire a newly born infant they must spit & say "God bless the child"- or the fairies will take it away or it will die before many years go by.
    Marriage - The bride must wear
    (a) something borrowed; & "blue" is the "lucky colour"
    (b) She must not speak to the bride-groom on the wedding morning before the ceremony takes place. It is unlucky".
