    I got the following riddles at home from my mother. (41 years)
    1. What is the difference between a jailor and a jeweller?
    A jailor watches cells and jeweller sells watches.
    2. Why is an onion like a bell? Because it is peel upon peel.
    3. If a ton of coal cost one pound what would a ton and a half come to? To ashes.
    4. What is the difference between an aeroplane and a tree?
    An aeroplane leaves its shed and a tree sheds its leaves.
    5. What ship is it that people dislike? Hardship.
    6. What is it that has ears but cannot hear? Corn.
    7 There was a bus going down the street one day and there was not a single person on it and yet it was packed. All the people were married.
    8. What is it that is not round, nor square and often eaten.
