  1. Kilkenny's Walls
    Long ago Kilkenny like every other city was surrounded by high stone walls. These sturdy walls delayed many an attack on our native city. These town walls were built in the fifteenth century. In some places remains of them are still to be seen.
    There was a wall at the Castle and in Patrick's St. In Patrick's St a portion can still be seen and where the gate into the city was. This part is commonly referred as "The Arch". The wall passed at the Model School and in Walkin St to Jame's St. In Abbey St a portion of the Arch where
