  1. The Leipreachan generally lives on top of a chestnut three. He is about a foot and a half in height. Wherever he goes he brings his bag of gold with him.
    Shoemaking is his favourite occupation. Many people have trapped him and tried to make him give up his gold but all was in vein. One night as he was singing merrily under the oak-tree and mending boots four haughty looking men came and ordered him to give up the bag of gold.
