  1. Kilkenny's ancient roadways
    In remote times there were many highways that entered into Kilkenny and though they arrived from the most distant places their course was right into the "Middle of Kilkenny".
    One highway which came from the Johnwells direction was called "Ballybought" and which is now called Barrack's St. because the military barracks are situated close by. Another road was called "Tullaburn road" and which entered the city which entered the city at a place called "Brogue Maker's Hill".
    A very important roadway is one called "Bohir - na - Thoundish
