  1. A Sandpit
    About a half mile from the town there is a sand-pit. It has situated near Mr. Cormack's house. It is said if a person happened to walk on a certain stone in the sand-pit he would die within a year.
    About four years ago a young lady took a walk through the pit. She afterwards heard she would die before the end of the year. That saying came true. She died after ten months.
    Six months ago a country man who was after doing his shopping, with his wife and children was going home in an ass and car. When they were passing the pit a lorry suddenly spun round
