  1. The Oldest house in Town
    There are many old houses in the town of Kilkenny but I think the one I am going to write is about the oldest.
    It is situated in St Kieran Street. In olden times it was the best house in Kilkenny. It is said many ancient families dwelled in it long ago. The last family to live in it was the Blanchfields. They lived in it for over forty years.
    There are many secret passages and trap doors connected with the house. During the "Great War" many soldiers sought shelter in those secret places. One night as four feeble old Irish soldiers were hiding from their enemies in a passage
