  1. Mc Brides Forge
    In this parish at present there is but one forge which is situated on the cross roads of Bamford about two miles from Kilkenny. The owner of it is a well known friend of the farmers, whose name is Mr Mc Bride.
    The door of his forge is shaped like a horse-shoe and the walls seem to contain many ancient stories. The smith himself is very jolly, and always alert for any task which is set before him with a cheery smile on his conteanance.
