    If the stars are falling it is a sign of frost.
    A mackerel sky is a sign of rain.
    If the new moon is on its back it is a sign of rain.
    The wind from South or S.W. brings most rain to this district.
    When there is a red sunset it betokens rain
    When the moon has tails it betokens gales. By tails are meant sharp points.
    When swallows fly low it is supposed
