  1. Local Heroes
    The following is a list of some of the local heroes who lived around the district of Newtown.
    A few years ago Tom Welsh lived in a cottage in Kilcoran, which is stuated a short distance from Newtown. This man was mighty strong as he could throw a half hundred weight thirty feet away. He would also walk around with two and a half hundred weight of meal on his back, which did not seem to be very much trouble to him.
    Many other people tried to perform better feats than he did but they did (not) succeed. A good many years ago there lived in Newtown a man named Mr. Walton. He was very lively on
