  1. About thirty years ago a cock fight to be held here in this locality in a lonely spot on the Carrick-road. Two cocks used to fight until one would be killed and sometimes the two. This game was played secretly but sometimes spies used to tell the police and then there would be trouble. Sometimes there used to be several pairs of cocks fighting and they used to fight every second turn.
