  1. Long ago when the mail coach travelled the road leading from Cork to Dublin there were three firkins of gold in it and three slodiers to guard it. When they came as far as Killamery they went into a public house and while they were inside the gold was stolen. They went back to Dublin and told their master what had happened. He brought them back to Killamery
