  1. Once upon a time a man lived in Mullinavat and he did not like the Priests. One morning the Priest gave a sermon about the Blessed Virgin when he came out he wrote on the Church gate The "Blessed Virgin is not the mother of God". The Priest did not know who wrote it and next day he said whoever wrote it would be "pucking" the ditches and a horn grew on this man's head. He went up to Dublin and had it cut off. But after a short time it grew again and he went up to the Priest and begged his pardon. After this the horn never grew again but the mark was on his forehead.
