  1. My home district is Knockmoylan in the parish of Ballyhale and in the barony of Knocktopher. The most common name in my district is Dalton. The majority of the houses are slated
    There is a little round hill in the townsland and is still called the mélán and that is how it got its name. I dont know any old people in the district who can speak Irish.
    In former times there were lots of houses in the district and there are still a lot of ruins to be seen. The people were evicted from their homes by the landlords
