    The Texas moon shines on me now
    beneath the foreign skies
    There is a map within my breast
    Where in memory now I see
    The homes and friends I left
    Behind in dear old Muckalee

    The shady fields are green in Spring
    On the plains of old MIltown
    And from out the clustering trees,
    I see the homes of Harristown
    Although in distant lands I roam
    I'll sing my theme for thee
    Where the skylarks soar
    As in days of yore,
    O'er dear old Muckalee.

    Where yoder Ballyhemmin lies,
    Killahey and Knocbrown
    The flowers of Spring are blooming
    And I am longing for to see
