My grandfather told me in olden times the people made their own candles out of the fat of animals. They had their own candle shapes. The way the people made their candles is they put the fat to render Then they get the wick and put it through the centre of the the shape and then and pore the fat into the shape and left it to get cold. When it would be cold it would be in the form of a candle.
