  1. My brother John Walsh told me this account. He heard it from Paddy Murphy, who was a good footballer in his time.
    Some years ago there was a great football match betwen Ballyhale and Kells. It was played in Columbcille outside Thomastown. Ballyhale won by one goal to nothing. Patrick Dwyer scored the goal for Ballyhale; he was the youngest man on the field. But Ballyhale had a good team and only for that they would not win, as Kells team was very good. This match was played in the year 1889.
