    Dicky so they carefully plucked a large number of the apples & scooped them out nicely, taking care to break as little of the skin as possible. Then they tied them on the tree. Dicky looked carefully at them when he came back but noticed nothing amiss - however the next evening he went out to gather a few. then to his disgust he discovered that he had only the shells & that not one within reach had been left whole.
