    There was a man and a woman living wan time in a cottage on the side of Brandon Hill, The Rower.

    There was a man and a woman living wan time in a cottage on the side of Brandon Hill, The Rower. They had only wan son. He said he wanted to go and seek his fortune, he was only wasting his time there. So this morning he started off to look for work. He came to a grand house. The gentleman of the house asked him was he a labouring man or what way had he for living. The man said he was a coachman He got a job at this house and after a while he fell in love with the young lady of the house. He told her he was a knight's son. Her father said he'd send one of his men to see the place he had. As the messenger was leaving the house the young man warned him not to be too hard on him when he'd come back and he'd make a gentleman
