    Old people say there are several crocks of gold hidden in Brandon-hill.

    Another version of this is -
    Old people say that there are several crocks of gold hidden in Brandon-hill. The person supposed to hide this gold was "Freyne the Robber". His christian name was James, he was born in Coolcullen, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. When old enough to work he went as a cook to a family by the name of "Robinson" who lived in that grand old mansion known as Ballyduff house Thomastown where he worked for a number of years, and where he came in cantact with a great many wealthy people
