  1. 'Twas on Good Friday at twelve oclock,
    The Jews came with their spears sharp,
    And pierced Our Saviour through the Heart,
    His Blessed Blood began to flow,
    From Heart to Hand.
    His Blessed Mother standing by,
    With a heavy heart and a dismal sigh.
    There's a not a man, woman or child
    That'll say this prayer, three times a day,
    Also by night will ever die in mortal sin, Through the gates of hell their soul shall never enter in.
    To be said on lying down at night:
    "There are four corners on my bed,
    There are four angels overhead,
    Matthew, mark, Luke and John,
    God bless this bed that I lie on."
    I heard a story of a girl who was a servant in a gentleman's house, and she always said this prayer.
