    "A drive, a lift, a carry"
    Long ago there were no motor-cars, and if you were walking on a journey - as people often were then - and a person driving a horse and car were passing you he would stop the horse, and say Sit up I'll give you a lift, or a drive (in the Co. Sligo) but in Laoighis he would say "Ill give you a carry, or "I'll carry you", and you would be asked did you get a "carry". I thought "carry" a strange word as if you were a parcel or load without life
