    is a mound situated in the east of County Kilkenny

    is a marshy level district in part - hence the "marshy meadow" or perhaps Curach Leathan is meant (wide marsh)

    Baile 'na Phuill
    is a deep glen, in a deep hollow, hence "town in the hole" describes it

    Currach Mór - is certainly a big marsh
    Gleann - is also a valley

    Cúilín
    is a little corner at the back of Tullogher which is a mound

    Carraig UÍ Néill
    is a rocky precipice on right bank of Nore and forms part of townsland of Brownsford: Néill must have lived here

    Baile Chinn Ath
    the town at the head of the ford: there is a stream which can be crossed by stepping stones commencing here

    Listerlin
    contains a moat which may also be called a Lios, and there is a pool there - meaning the pool of the fort. But a priest got drowned in that pool which is since called Loch an tSagairt. Some say it means Lios Dreóilín from
