    De la Freyne owned all the land from Annas to the Bridge of Ballyneill.

    De la Freyne owned all the land from Annas to the Bridge of Ballyneill. He was dispossessed of it by Cromwell, who gave it to Cooke one of his followers. Robert, a son of De la Freyne got a lease of Brownstown from Cook.
    Fitzgerald, Baron of Cloon owned all the land from Ballyneill Bridge to the Bridge of Innistioge. Fitzgerald was killed at the battle of Aughrin in 1691. News of his death was brought home by his servant Sinnoth.
