  1. There are many stories told about a rath that is in a field belonging to John Maddock. It is about half a mile from this school and it can be seen from the road. One of the stories told about it is that a man named David Harman was passing home from Ross one night and he heard music in the rath.
    He went down and he heard people dancing inside and he went in. It was lined with gold inside. When the man was tired dancing one of the girls told him that one of his horses was dead in the stable. He went home and when he reached home the horse was dead in the stable.
