  1. There is a story told about a rath in a field in Ballinlaw. One time a man ploughed up the field and before evening he had part of the field ploughed together with half the rath. In the morning when he came back to finish the ploughing he found that the half of the rath which he had ploughed had assumed the same appearance as it had before he ploughed it. The sods had overturned and were growing grass again.
