  1. One night about 11 o'clock in the winter 1937-38 a ball of fire, reddish in colour was seen by Michael Cashin, Rathpatrick, Slieverue to travel along the ridge of Drumdowney in a South East direction. Something similar was seen on a few occasions by two schoolboys an Connelly's Knock, Kilmurry
