  1. Mooncoin, my native Parish, is situated in the south-west of the County Kilkenny where the river Suir divides it from the County Waterford. It contains about fourteen hamlets of which the principal is Mooncoin itself. The village is large and fairly well kept. There are two principal streets. The only buildings worthy of note are, the Roman Catholic Church, a splendid cut stone building, The Parocial House, Presbytery, National School and Post Office.
