  1. Many old customs still remain with us which are reminiscent of pagan Ireland. Most pagan habits and customs were abolhised but St. Patrick tolerated a few of the more important ones but gave the people a new Chrisstian motive for their continuation.
    In connection with marriages some days were considered lucky and others unlucky for their celebration.
    "Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday is the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses,
    And Saturday is the worst day of all.
    The bride should wear -
    Something old, something new,
    Something borrowed, something blue.
    The bride brings a married woman
