  1. Marriage Customs.
    In our district marriages take place from the sixth of January to the beginning of Lent. People in our district think it unlucky to get married in May or November They also think it unlucky to get married on Fridays or Saturdays
    In olden times matches were arranged in our district. Money used be given as a dowry and sometimes cattle. There are not any old people in our district who remember marriages taking place in the houses.
    When a wedding feast is held in our district a great number of straw boys visit the house. When they arrive at the house they give the door a loud knock with a stick. When the door is opened the sergant as their leader is called enters first and then calls his men by
