  1. I did my best to find as many old riddles as I could from the old people but as they are scarce in my district I did not find so many. Here are some of the riddles I found.
    Round the wood and round the wood but never touches the wood = the bark of a tree.
    Black as ink but ink it's not, white as milk but milk it's not, it hops on the road like a marble stone, but a marble stone it is not = a Magpie.
    What is the greatest wonder on the map of Europe = That Hungary does not eat Turkey.
    Why is the letter I like an island = because it is in the middle of water.
    Dublin, Derry, Cork and Kerry, spell me that without a K = That
    Patch upon patch without any stitches riddle me that and I will buy you a pair of breeches = A head of cabbage.
    Round as an apple, as plump as a ball, can climb the church over steeple and all = The sun.
    Headed like a thimble, tailed like a rat, you may guess forever but you would not guess that.
