    An old Song
    Mickey Casey's Christening
    I
Down by Elphin lived one Mickey Casey.
And Mary, the wife, kept a neat shebeen.
They lived on potion free and 'aisy'
And sold Yankee bacon fat and lean
    Chorus
With lads and lasses and lungs of leather
    Bachelors and aids agrah
Sure its time to stick together
    For Casey's christening. hear! hurrah!
    2
Down in the room which was not spacious
    All around on every seat.
Sat boys so clean, and girls so gracious,
Like pins and needles nice and neat.
    3
Friends into the house came swarming.
To see the christening that we had
Some of them said young Darby was charming
The living picture of his dad.
    4.
The piper then began for the dancing.
Thomas Murphy bounced upon the floor.
But since this madman began his prancing
Such jigs and reels were never see before.
